Obedience Show Rules

   Obedience is very different from conformation and breed shows.  It is judged on how skilled the pet is, rather than its conformation.  The pet must complete a series of tasks, and will be judged on how well it does.

Entering

Here are the tasks the pet must complete:

Sit - the pet must be sitting facing

the camera with its head facing forward.

Down Stay - the pet must be lying down but not sleeping.  He/she must look energetic and eager to go.  The down position may either be done facing forward of to the side.

Stand for Exam - the pet must be in a pose.  Dogs may either have their heads facing the camera or turned to the side.  Cats must have their heads facing the camera.

Recall - the pet must be running from left to right.  He/she must be looking where they are going and not at the camera.

Judging

   Obedience shows are judged by how well the petz do at their tasks.  1st, 2nd, and 3rd are awarded.
